Hello and welcome to the Modern Maker Podcast for Thursday, May 17th 2018, otherwise known as

Pack Rat Day, which last week was, what was it, clean up your room or we made it clean up your garage day but

you guys consider yourself pack rats you know I'm messy but I'm not a hoarder like I

you'll get rid of stuff I'll get rid of stuff. I just don't always put it away beforehand.

That's a good point. But you know what is a real pack rat situation is these two ugly, full-size rodent squirrels that are trying to push out the garies at the house.

Oh yes.

Trying to bully them?

Yeah, these are like the pirates of the squirrel world.

The squirrel world.

Yeah, take it away Ben, Tell them about these suckers.

Okay, so anyone that's been following our Instagram over the last few months will notice that

we've been entertaining and making friends with these little chipmunk looking creatures.

And I say chipmunk looking because they're not actually chipmunk, they're actually a type of ground

squirrel that is the size of a chipmunk.

So we originally named the first one Gary and then we realized

there was more than one and so we just started referring them to them as Gary's. So all has

been great. Jesse did most of the squirrel feeding and taming and trick teaching.

But Jesse stayed a little bit longer in Europe for Maker Central and Mike and I would just kind of throw food at them and

feed them whenever we are kind of hanging out outside. So doing our best and in that time these very fat normal not nearly as cute larger

typical gray-looking ground squirrels moved into the neighborhood and realized that hey this is a

good place to get little pieces of bread and they've pushed out the little

garies out of the prized home location which is under the backyard deck.
