David, thank you so much for joining me today. Thanks Andrew.

So growing up in the Midwest, like, was it hard to kind of get access to technology?

Well, I went to a summer camp and we had a robot there, which you could program.

I think it was in assembly. So it wasn't easy to change its behavior. That's right. But I did kind

of get the bug of being able to program behaviors into something that would iteratively move around

or draw kind of spyrograph patterns. And I got excited about programming in general. And,

you know, I think I had a Commodore 64 at the time. The options were basic. And I think you could

do a little bit of Pascal or I got an Apple IIE. You know, that was just magic to be able to

think of something, be able to describe it in code and then, you know, make super rudimentary

video games. But that was like, that was one of my passions at the time.

You'd see it manifest and you're like, I have given life.

Exactly. And the spell check, you know, as a little bit of dyslexic, a little bit of ADHD,

like I totally needed the spell check. So that was also helpful.

Very nice. So you end up going to college in a small liberal arts school in the area?

Yeah, I went up to St. Olaf College, which is a great little school just south of Minneapolis.

In a small pond like that, you're able to be a big fish. And I was a physics major. I also had

a fine arts major. And I also sang was a tenor in one of the choirs there. They have a really
