It's great to be here. So I know like a previous underserved guest, Mike Bro,

you started programming primarily because of your dad?

Yeah, you know, it's interesting.

Back when I was younger, I sometimes was joking my kids,

it changes to technology,

were basically when we went from white chalk to colored chalk.

I was in elementary school. So there wasn't a lot of access to

computers back in the 60s. You know, they were in institutions and government facilities and

not yet in people's homes for the most part.

But my dad got into it early.

He went to college with the GI Bill in San Jose State and then took an aptitude test and they

basically, hey, we think he'd make a good programmer.

So it kind of took off for him from there and he ended up at a variety companies and moved around.

We were living at San Jose at the time and we moved up to Seattle, Washington, and then back to

Santa Monica, and then out to Oakland, New Jersey.
