Welcome to this week's episode. In this one I sit down with Cliff Grow, a long time advocate for the Alaska Permanent Fund dividend, more commonly known as the PFD.

He was there in 1982 when then Governor Jay Hammond put the permanent fund into the Alaska Constitution and was instrumental in the creation of the PFD.

There's a very important distinction between those two, the permanent fund and the permanent fund dividend.

One is the collection of Alaska oil wealth. the permanent fund and the permanent fund dividend.

One is the collection of Alaska oil wealth

while the other is the yearly payout to Alaska residents.

In addition to his work with the PFD,

he was involved in the adoption of legislation that changed Alaska's oil tax system.
