Welcome to this week's episode. In this one I sit down with my Uncle Jay Liska, a true snowboarder to his core.

You can hear it in his voice and the words he uses.

He started snowboarding back in the early 80s, highbacks and when snowboard companies were still trying to figure out what the hell of snowboard actually looked like

Jay was one of Alaska's first professional snowboarders with his own pro model. He also started borderline along with my dad

Scott Liska. For those not familiar with borderline it was an Alaskan snowboard

and skateboard shop that really pushed the Alaska snow and skate scene in in the late 80s, 90s, and early 2000s.

Jay would eventually part ways with borderline and start his own shop, Northern Border,

which also had a big impact on the Alaska Snow and Skate scene.
