All right, welcome back to another episode of the East Meets West Hunt podcast, part of the daily podcast from the elk hunt in Colorado.

This will be a recap of days, both five and six in this one, mostly because on day five, we didn't do any hunting.

Got completely rained out in the morning and we kind of socked in the tents until a little

afternoon.

And at that point, we decided to go back into town and regroup and kind of come up with

a plan to relocate from not being able

to find any elk in the areas that we'd found them in the past.

So I'm here again tonight with my dad and we're sitting at a new base camp on a different

part of the unit and basically a good three-hour drive away.

Yeah, we did some e-scouting last night and came up with what we thought would be a better opportunity based on the conditions of what we had seen

the first four days of the Elkhunt. And it ended up being a little bit more of a hike than I

think we anticipated to get back to where we wanted to get to. And pretty much by the time we drove in and got camp set up, it was probably what close to 1230 before we started hiking up.

Yeah, it was a little, yeah, a little bit before that, but somewhere on there.

But then end up being probably what, three hour hike, four hour hike.

What did, before we got up to where we wanted to be?

Yeah, it was about four hours.

It was, what, just under, or about six miles.

And just 2,500 feet elevation gain somewhere around there.

But, uh, but first you kind of forgot that of forgot that the reason how we found the area was because we talked to a guy and ran into a guy in the parking lot of the hotel.
