So as I kind of alluded to in some previous conversations, we'll be doing a day-by-day update throughout my 14 or I guess 15-day Coloradocountry elk hunt and we just arrived out here to the trailhead today

got out here a little bit earlier than expected and got to do a little bit of a little bit of

hunting here so I'm joined here with my dad Joe Martonic, on the podcast. And so we, so we drove out yesterday morning

and, uh, which would have been Friday, September, or August 31st, I guess. And so we drove

straight through from Pennsylvania, uh, left about seven in the morning or so,

and finally arrived out here in Colorado.

I got to the trailhead somewhere around a little after 10 in the morning.

But the drive out was an interesting one.

It was a long night driving through Kansas,

ended up hitting a dead meal deer with the truck going about 80 miles an hour.

So that was, that was pretty interesting.

You seemed a little bit surprised, Dad.

Yeah, I was taking a nap at the time.

And to wake up to U hollering and stuff slamming off the bottom of

the truck. I didn't know what was going on. I knew it wasn't good though, whatever was happening.

Yeah, I mean, the deer was already dead, but kind of just ramped it. And then the truck drove fine after that and got out and took a look at it.

And thought I had taken the running board off, but that ended up being okay and just some meat hanging from underneath it.

But I ended up basically ripping the running board off later.
