Welcome to another podcast.

Today I want to talk about a big picture concept that I think sometimes gets a little lost in the minutia over the daily discussions and controversies.

It's the notion that Lady Justice isn't really blindfolded in holding the scales. It's the notion that

there are really two separate justice systems, one for certain people and another

for the rest of us. First of all, if you've ever been involved in court proceedings,

you likely know that it can quickly get to the point

where you understand that nobody but the big companies,

corporations, insurance companies, or government can really afford to seek justice.

Even if you're right in a dispute and have a provable case, the cost of pursuing it against opponents with unlimited money, in some cases with unlimited public funds,

is just too great for most ordinary Americans.

Second, in the criminal justice system the criteria used to decide whether or not to

charge someone and with what hardly seems equally applied.
