Stardate 5001.

The Enterprise has spent the last six weeks in a chaotic region of space,

orbiting a naked singularity.

This strange phenomenon has been described in theory but never previously observed.

The dimensionless point possesses such intense gravity that it distorts space time.

I must discover the cause of its inexplicable creation. If a singularity

appeared near an inhabited world, it could cause immense destruction. The ship has so far

withstood the hazardous twists and turns of spatial

dimension induced by the singularity. Despite the danger, the

mission must continue. My work is nearly complete. The preliminary

conclusions are unlikely. One might even say, startling. Many scientific

discoveries occur when an experimenter notices an unexpected, unlikely, even apparently

impossible event, and investigates it rather than discarding it as nonsense.

I am aware of that fact, never so much as now.

The wave functions that describe my current observations

contain entropic terms such as I have never seen before.

If the equations are correct, and this is impossible to confirm without a complete set of measurements, but if they are correct.
