My entitled in-laws decide to leave a $1 tip after I picked up their tab of over $240.

But now after I asked them to pay for their own meals in the future,

they've called me ungrateful, claiming that I should be glad that they showed up to spend time with me in the first place.

And I'm honestly so blown away by their entitlement that at this point I seriously don't know what to do.

Here's what happened.

So every other week my fiance and I go out to eat with her family and last week we went to a Korean

barbecue restaurant owned by my uncle where I paid for everybody's meal. I only

asked them to cover the tip for the waitress, which they agreed to do so.

The total tab was over $240 and I just paid for it.

Usually when I cover the tab for my friends or significant other they generously tip since

they're only responsible for the gratuity not the cost of the meal itself however

a few days ago my cousins revealed that they had only left a $1 tip and they have done this before.

I was shocked and disappointed because a $1 tip is insultingly low, especially considering

I had treated them to alcohol and dessert.

So I discussed this issue with my fiance.

But her family insists that they never tip.

Or only pays like $1 for a tip at a restaurant or even just general services. Mind you, this is happening in the United States.

Well, as a result, I informed my fiance that our bi-weekly restaurant outings would have to change.

I told her that I had only paid for their meals as a kind gesture, and while my fiance was annoyed, she ultimately understood.

Well, yesterday they asked if I would buy their food again next week, to which I responded that they will need to cover their own expenses for their own meal.

I didn't want to confront them about their habit of tipping only $1, so I decided to handle it differently this time and simply pretend to cover the tip

for them. Well, her family did not take to that so well. They accused me of being ungrateful,
