An entitled flight attendant kicks me off of the plane, claiming that I wasn't actually

a doctor when they called asking for one.

And despite the fact that I saved a patient's life on the plane, I am removed from the plane

by police presence under the false accusation that I was impersonating being a doctor,

with this eventually leading to months worth of litigation as well as lawsuits.

Here's what happened.

So for some background to begin with, I'm a doctor.

This event happened a few years ago when I was a junior doctor.

I was so shiny you could use me for a shaving mirror.

I also had a career before I did medicine, so I was about 30 years old when this happened.

I had been a doctor for about 8 months, and I was going on a trip with an airline that

has this weird obsession with putting pictures of kangaroos everywhere.

And this was with my then fiancé and some of our friends going on a trip to Bali.

The plane had just taken off, maybe 15 minutes in the air, when the flight crews say over

the intercom, the words that every doctor dreads to hear on a plane.

They asked if there was a doctor on board, after looking around and seeing that no one

else was getting up, I reluctantly head forward to the crew area to introduce myself.

Looking very grateful for my presence, a flight attendant shows me to where the passenger

in question is sitting.

I walk up to a man who looks half alive, thankfully he has a medic alert bracelet and is still

conscious enough to tell me exactly what's going on.
