My entitled brother law absolutely hates me, while also at the same time demands that I help

him get a promotion, as well as help him get a raise, and I'm honestly baffled by this sense of

entitlement. Here's what happened. So my significant other's brother is trying to reconcile with

his family after years of his strangement. The reasons behind it are irrelevant to this story,

and the explanation is too long to write out. So let's just say that there's an innocent misunderstanding

that caused a bad reaction from both the brother-in-law and the family. But the brother-in-law was

ultimately too blame for the entire thing, and had the very worst reaction possible. That's the

long story short of it. He admits that he was wrong, and the family owns their mistakes. Everyone

has apologized sincerely, and they're working on the relationship. Each family member had been

texting and later calling him. I only met him once briefly before the big blow up, so he didn't

really have any kind of relationship. He was invited to Christmas, which both my significant other

and I were very worried about, but we still went to his aunt's house. Everything went well between

the brother-in-law and the family, and I was so relieved and happy to see that. His wife and

his step-kids were very nice, and seemed much more comfortable with us than the brother-in-law.

Everyone liked them right away. The only problem is that he hates me. We work in the same industry,

but I'm several rungs above him and five years younger. He asked around about me after he

found out what I do, and it turns out that I used to be the brother-in-law's current boss's boss

a few years ago. The thing is that I have a natural ability that makes my job much easier,

and I honestly take no credit for this, since I see myself as just super lucky to be born with the

abilities that I have. And there are only a few of us in our industry, and he has worked harder
