We're going to start off with a beauty-related topic.

We're going to start off with top tips for colouring your hair.

We had Joe Hansford, MBE, on the Shail Arts Show, a couple of weeks ago,

and she is known for colouring every celebrity under the sun's hair from Elizabeth Hurley to the Duchess of Cornwall. She's a bit of a hair

colouring legend, I would say. Anyway, she had lots of advice, namely not to go for a big change. Perhaps

that's obvious. I think we all colour our hair a little bit in the room. Gabrielle, I'm going to

start with you. What do you think the key things are other than not making a big change?

The first thing I think that's most important is manager expectations. Because I think a lot of people go in with quite dark hair and they expect that they're going to get like really light hair overnight and it takes a long time. It has to be broken down in different steps because if you put that much bleach on your hair in one, it's going to snap and break up. Oh, is that right?

I mean that.

I thought you could just go in.

Well, you can, but your hair will be in a horrific state. And did you ever watch a market as a model when they do these makeover, isn't it? It's like 17 hours to dye their hair. It was like the straw on the head afterwards. So yeah, I think that definitely expectations and also aftercare for your colour. I think the most important thing.

So choosing a good shampoo is really important because if you choose a shampoo that's not

specifically for colour or that's got sulphates in it will strip all the colour out of your hair.
