Good morning today is Thursday February 28th 2019. My name is Gagli Senti and these are

Puerto Rico's top news. We start off with the fact that FEMA will not be sending help

to the Puerto Rican government for its forensics department. Like we've talked before, the

Puerto Rico forensics department has a backlog of about 100 bodies that are waiting for autopsies. According to David Bagnot, FEMA will deny Puerto Rico's request for help.

Puerto Rico is requesting FEMA to send over forensic staff and to pay for it as well

in order to help with the backlog which has been going on from probably before Maria,

which is pretty much the reason why FEMA will not be helping, because it's not Maria problem is something that Puerto Rico was struggling before even before.

We follow on to Rosario, who just announced that he will be seeking a statehood plebiscite

for the 2020 elections.

So this new plebiscite that the governor will be seeking to do will be statehood

yes or no, independence and our current status, Enelah will not be part of the plebiscite only

statehood. So it's pretty much recognized by everybody that the governor is just doing this as a

political stunt aimed at increasing his support.

We're heading into polling season.

The main newspapers in Puerto Rico are starting to poll

the country to see how they feel about different candidates.

So this is simply seen as a way for him to increase his support

within his base and within the base in his party.

Next news has to be with the Gau, the Gau just

published a report in which they found that they cannot attest whether $560 billion that

the US government has spent fighting drugs in the Caribbean during the past decade have been effective or not. So the US government has spent

$560 billion helping local governments helping the American Republic, Puerto Rico, Jamaica,
