Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republic of Mike Graham right here on talk radio.

The nights are drawing in, ladies and gentlemen, the temperature is falling.

The summer is almost certainly over and we're running out of energy.

And I don't just mean we've been overdoing it at the gym or perhaps cycling too much. No, it's Britain PLC that seems to be running low on fuel. Apparently

the Russians are holding back the gas supply, driving prices sky high, renewable and green energy

sources aren't providing enough. And according to the eco-expert, experts, I should say,

it hasn't been windy enough, not nearly windy enough,

apparently, to make any energy at all. So here we are, the world's sixth biggest economy,

without enough fuel to see us through the winter. And with power companies already prime to

set record high prices next month, it's a triple whammy for consumers. And just to make things even

worse, not only you're not going to have enough energy,

you're going to have to bail out the companies that can't sell you the energy because they're all

going under. Marvelous, isn't it? Absolutely tremendous. But don't worry, Boris Johnson will

ride to the rescue, no doubt. Oh, hang on a minute. He's flown off to New York to give a speech

about climate change. Oh, and he's meeting Joe Biden as well. What's he doing over there? For heaven's sake, there's nothing like fiddling while Rome doesn't burn, is there? Meanwhile, those insolict maniacs back on the M25, there's nothing like watching people trying to stop traffic in order to draw attention to the climate crisis when the prime minister of this country has already gone to America

to see the president of the United States to talk about the climate crisis. We'll be checking in

with Sir John Redwood this morning to ask why we don't have more energy supplies of our own.
