And we realize the entire narrative function of his granddaughter being there is to be

extremely impressed by her grandfather being in uniform.

Then she escorts him into the main performance room, truly one of the most shape-shifting spaces that has ever existed.

This dining room changes sizes, sort of willy-nilly, just depending on the needs.

Sometimes it has a fireplace, sometimes not.

You know how chimneys are.

And it is absolutely full of people and they give him a standing

ovation. And then his regiment comes out on stage and begins to sing. It is a reprise of the song that

they sang to him during the war to thank him for being their general.
