No, this isn't the story of the birthday party I always wanted.

It's Enders game by Orson Scott Card.

And this is the book pile.

I'm a comic, a father, and if my six-year-old was ever recruited by a space agency to fight an alien war, I would probably do something to try and stop it.

As a teenager, I tried to get Orson Scott card to sign my copy of Chamber of Secrets,

and he took it very badly.

So now my life goal is to trick him into doing it.
