Today we'll be telling a story about St. Valentine, whose feast is celebrated on February 14th.

Not much is known about St. Valentine.

An all we really know for sure is his name, that he was a martyr, and where he's buried.

But there are some stories about him and the origins of Valentine's Day that have been

traditionally attributed to him, one of which we'll tell today.

St. Valentine is the painter and saint of engaged couples, love, marriage, against fainting,

and beekeepers.

Now it's time for our story.

The city of Rome was already bustling.

It was early in the morning, but St. Valentine could hear people and wagons rolling by the

door of his little shop.

He got to work, like he did every day, prepping his little apothecary for whatever patience

came his way.

Little herb bundles hung in the sun to dry, and fresh honey waited in little jars to make

the medicines sweet and palatable.
