Hi, this is Pastor Rick Warren. On behalf of my family and all of our staff here at Daily Hope,

we wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. You know,

Pastor Rick Warren often says you are made by God and for God, and until you understand that, well, life will never make

sense. Thank you for joining us today on Pastor Rick's Daily Hope. And in our series called God's

vision for the rest of your life, today Rick will continue in his effort to help you discover the

unique purpose and vision that the

Lord has for your life. Okay, here's Pastor Rick, and this will be part one of a message called

Enabling the Vision, Purpose-driven Giving. Today I want us to look at enabling the vision

and how to use your money, specifically your money, to fulfill God's

five purposes for you. Notice this verse on the first page. The Bible says, tell people to use

their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and should give happily to those in need,

always being ready to share whatever God

has given them. By doing this, they'll be storing up real treasure for themselves in heaven.

It is the only safe investment for eternity, and they will be living a fruitful Christian life

down here as well. Now, I want you to notice three things.

This is a very important verse.

First, I want you to circle the phrase, use their money.

Would you circle that?

The Bible teaches that money is to be used, not loved.

The Bible doesn't say money is bad.

The Bible says the love of money is bad. You are to use money and love people. Use money, love people. Now, if you start loving money, you're going to do the opposite. You're going to use people to get more money. So write this down in your outline somewhere. Money is a tool. That's what it is.

It's a tool.
