Summary

Pastor Mark Turman was so encouraged by Dr. Denison's book about the Holy Spirit, titled Empowered, that he asked to record its 47 chapters as daily readings for his church.

When Dr. Denison heard about this, he suggested the great idea to release these recordings as bonus episodes of The Daily Article Podcast every day from Ash Wednesday to Easter.

We hope that you will likewise be encouraged by these short, insightful, and empowering podcast episodes.

who forsook their homes to live alone in desert solitude.

Someone asked one of them why he had made such a drastic change in his life. The monk poured water

and sand into a jar. As he shook the jar, the water became clouded and murky. As he allowed the jar to rest,

son of God could not defeat the tomb, no one could. Grief won and faith lost. Or so it seemed.

1:16.8

But the Holy Spirit was not defeated. The power of God, who anointed, led, and enabled Jesus

1:23.7

to fulfill his earthly mission did not die at Calvary. To the contrary, he would soon

raise Jesus from the grave and present him to the world as our risen Lord. In the meanwhile,

1:37.5

the spirit was at work, comforting Jesus' followers in their sorrow. He is still the greatest source of hope in all the world.

1:47.6

Hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts

through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us, Romans 5.5. May the God of hope

1:59.7

fill you with joy and peace in believing so that by the power

of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15. 13. Now he stands ready to comfort you wherever

2:12.9

you need his hope today. It's been said that grief is the price we pay for love. Psychologist Eric

Fromm observed, to spare oneself from grief at all cost can be achieved only at the price

of total detachment, which excludes the ability to experience happiness. Put yourself in the place of

those who grieved Jesus' death on the Saturday of Holy Week. Name your personal grief,

fear, or burden, and know that the Spirit who gives hope is ready to minister hope
