0:14.4

the Antidote for Vacations that Leave You Empty and Dry. Now, this is, of course, timely, at least for those of us in the

0:25.1

northern hemisphere, that is North America, Europe, Asia, North Africa, as we go into summer

0:30.0

and peak vacation time for most leaders. For those of you in the southern hemisphere, that's

thought about it too much. Another fellow in his 40s. Oh, I take three weeks every summer,

1:38.3

but to be honest, they're exhausting. I've got small kids. I try to keep everybody happy after it's

1:42.7

been a difficult, demanding year. And I generally come back from vacations depleted in need of a vacation.

Another woman leader said to me, I don't really like sitting around. I'm on the go. I'm a go-type

person. The time I get up until I fall asleep, I'm doing. So even on vacation, I'm working.

Or I can't take that much time to stop, set another, or I'm so short-staffed at our church. I'm a solo pastor.

2:07.3

I just do what needs to get done. And so there are so many issues and crises that I need to be

available for my congregation. So again, my observation over the years has been that very few pastors and leaders have a thoughtful,
