The Rock and Roll Hall Fame nominations are out and as always for an ever evolving institution, they are controversial.

To talk about that, first of all, I have Keith Murphy, a veteran writer, author and journalist

who is written for the LA Times vibe entertainment weekly in the New York

post among other places here's my conversation with Keith so Keith you wrote a

great piece making what seemed to me to be a self-evidently true point that while M&M deserves to be in the

rock and roll fame, it doesn't seem right to get in now, before so many legendary hip-hop artists, many of whom preceded him.

Yeah, see, I wanted to just make it known that this was not about M&M because M&M is giving so much to the culture.

I mean, M&M has put so many people on. M&M was D-12 Heavy, M&M.

So I get off stage right, drop the mic,

walk up to these hot chicks and I'm all like,

Whenever someone would say, hey, you know, you're selling all of these albums,

you'd be the first reminder you, hey, I've received avenues that other people have not been able to receive.

I've been played on rock station. Nobody was playing Red Man on rock stations nobody was playing red man on rock stations they

played me on rock stations you know so he he knows what the deal is he's a true

troubadour of this of this art form.

I think what happened was the Rock of All of Fame boxed themselves in.

They made the mistake of going with the obvious heavy box office sexy cells heavy artist after they

went with a few pioneers, when you get the likes of Grand Master Flash and

the Furious Five, you get Run DMC, you get Public Enemy, you get the Beastie Boys, you get
