Stand by your beds, don't leave the house, don't go to the pub. Don't get married. Don't even think of having a social

life. And whatever you do, download this NHS app, which doesn't actually work very well,

but which might result in forcing you to quarantine yourself just in case you might contact a virus so deadly that you won't even know you've got it. I'm just pausing for you to take all that in, first of all.

This weekend, the government's COVID policy went from the ridiculous

to the even more ludicrous.

People were turned away from pubs and restaurants,

but not having the app.

Kicked out at 10 o'clock because that's when the curfew kicks in.

Students were told that they could not leave their dormitories,

even if they needed

food. They started putting up, you know, like posters in their windows, like they were being

held hostage in the Bangkok Hilton, for heaven's sake. And it turned out that the government's

own scientific advisors lied to the public about how many people could die if lockdown two wasn't

brought in. That's right. Sir Patrick Valence apparently is admitted privately

that that number of 50,000 people somehow contracting the disease on a daily basis if we didn't

do the lockdown was literally plucked out of the air. Brilliant, isn't it? Meanwhile, it's emerged

this morning that all the bars inside the House of Parliament don't shut at 10 o'clock like all the

bars in the rest of the country and anyone going in doesn't have to leave their details behind or produce the dreaded

NHS app. It's one rule for them and another for the rest of us. Absolutely disgusting and

incredibly out of touch with the people. I'm going to order them today to start shutting down
