Hey folks, Scott Wangart here, and this is a M. Crit shadow boxing episode.

What is shadow boxing?

That was a situation created by Gary Klein, in which experts are interviewed about a case.

And then it's presented to people further back in their career.

And at key decision points, you stop the presentation and you have people form in their own minds

what they would do.

And then you start up again, the presentation process with the experts responding and see

how far or differing your stance on what you would do is from the alleged experts.

And in this way, you garner their tacit knowledge or formulate some things to ponder as

the why they did something different than you.

It turns out maybe you're right, but the thinking through it is really the potent

mixture here.

Now I have my regular crew, my former fellows, Ryan Barnacle and Christina Lu, as well as

our resident presenter, Semi Chetit.

And we have a case, they're mostly these cases are routine.

They're not like extraordinary gotcha cases where you, oh my god, it's this rare differential

I never would have thought about.

They're just bread and butter emergency medicine.
