with Side Ventures under scrutiny.

Hey Mike, there are no two CEOs that better represent the cult of the founder than

Elon Musk and Sam Altman. Altman's sprawling empire also raising questions of side

dealing conflicts of interest, the safe development of generative AI.

This morning a group of open AI insiders published an open letter calling for AI companies

including open AI to be more transparent and implement better protections for

whistleblowers. Last week we finally heard from one of the former

open AI board members that pushed Altman out of the company last November.

Helen Toner explaining that one reason the board lost trust in him was his failure to tell

them that he owned the Open AI startup fund.

And that's just one of his investment vehicles.

There are at least three others with investments in more than 125 companies, according to

Pitchbook.

As the journal reports, a growing number of them do business with Open AI itself, either

as customers or as major business partners, putting

Altman on both sides of the deal. Now at a public company, that's a problem. The

best deal for shareholders should be the one taken.
