Trying to make sense of it, but it does appear that Elon Musk, even though he's not an official member of the government, doesn't have an actual, you know, formal role in the government, does now have access to this payment system.

And this is essentially the government's checkbook.

And this is the system that issues the cash to contractors and vendors and other people, the

U.S. government is doing business with. These are all payments that have obviously been money that

was approved by Congress. It was payments that have been

authorized by federal agencies. And so this Treasury Department office is really not sort of an

approval zone. It's a processing zone. But it does appear that Musk and his team have now

gotten access to this system and are in the position to potentially block some payments

on whatever grounds they want.

This is really pretty unprecedented territory.
