Hello and welcome to Under the Skin from Loominary this week I spoke with

Elizabeth Gilbert. Elizabeth Gilbert is a writer speaker and thought leader and like a

whirlpool of effortless seduction. She is perhaps better known for her memoir Eat, Pray, Love,

which chronicled her personal journey of self-discovery and inspired thousands of readers.

I'm reading this. What I actually thought of

Elizabeth Gilbert is that she embodied the qualities that you would anticipate

if you've read big magic or

I pray love or any of her fiction that she's kind of

got an unsentimental unmorkish self-love and love in general.

Sort of a sort of a very unabashed kind of, I would say, optimism and warmth without it being, you know, dumb.

And I would say that that kind of, the fact that Elizabeth Gilbert is something that you might have encountered through that a sort of a new age lens

has more to do with the problems of commodifying and marketing spiritual content than the origins of that content and the creation of it.

So it says more about sort of corporatism, the way that anyone who writes a book or creates anything is going to have to at some point interface with institutions that

commodify that content. She's essentially, I'm saying she's great. She was named as one of the 100 most

influential people in the world by Time magazine. Her latest book is City of Girls and
