We go into caves, onto boats, and up mountain trails to meet people, hear their stories, their poetry, and of course, play some music, all to reconnect to nature and get closer to the things we're missing.

Now, at our house, supper begins by grabbing whatever falls out of the fridge first.

So last night it was chicken thighs and leftover Chinese

dumpling sauce. That sauce is just soy, vinegar, and sesame oil, but it occurred to me that it

can take you anywhere, as in great ginger into it, teas open ahead of iceberg, so it looks

like a rose, pour in the sauce, and you've got a Canton salad. Or put saracha in the sauce with some brown sugar,

and try cooking carrots in that.

Now, for soup, add lots of broth to the dumpling sauce,

along with noodles and bok choy and tofu, and you've got supper.
