But I have, to my face, been questioned about directing that.

Elizabeth Banks is a member of a small Hollywood club,

women who make big studio movies.

After directing Pitch Perfect 2 and a Charlie's Angels reboot set for release this fall, Banks has even bigger ambitions.

Fresh off producing the heartfelt Hulu comedy shrill, Banks tells us about getting bored with acting and moving into producing and directing.

Despite the industry-wide talk of opening opportunities for women, she's still run up against some very closed minds. But first on the news banter, Warner's wants to hold on to JJ Abrams

Hi there.

So last week we talked about the thunderous, significant closing of the Disney acquisition of Fox,

but which is nonetheless significant, the town kind of was shocked, and Elizabeth Gabler was shocked.

She runs Fox 2000, a label that has done an eclectic array of movies, but things like the

devil wears Prada, the Life of Pie, very successful overall. She has an amazing track record.

She is much loved.

She had an all-female operation at her own label with a lot of autonomy at Fox.

Disney had said they would keep her there and then just called her into a conference room and said, actually, we're not keeping you there.
