Today we are going to talk about this pretty big news that broke last night.

Just as a reminder, we are recording Wednesday, December the 20th, just to give you a sense of

where we are in time.

Last night, late yesterday afternoon, news came out of Colorado that the Colorado Supreme Court ruled that Donald Trump is

actually ineligible to serve as president. And based on that because in that state Supreme

Court's opinion he is ineligible to run that that the election authorities in that state should not put him on the ballot for the same reason

you wouldn't put someone in the ballot who was under the age of 35 or who was born in a foreign country.

They're not eligible, ergo, they should not be on the ballot. Now this is a topic that

we at TPM made a decision probably a good six months ago that we were going to follow this issue fairly closely

because there are a couple different public interest slash activist groups that are making a go of this.

They are going into the states where the legal terrain

and the arrangement of who's in charge of what is favorable,

trying to get Trump disqualified,

because he did lead an insurrection against the government of the United States.

We'll get to that in a moment,

but for everything you can say about this,

and I was actually just when we started,

I was finishing up a post on this question

and I was getting into sort of you know what the amendment says the legal

pros and cons all the kind of the atmospheric questions around it and what I came back to
