We turn to two pending elections, both of whom enjoy King Charles as their region, Canada and Australia. We begin in Canada with an ironic headline from Reuters.

Many Canadian snowbirds in U.S. looking to pack up and fly north for good.

The number of Canadian snowbirds planning to sell their second homes in sunny Florida and sunny Arizona has surged this spring, many of them put off by the sudden chill

that has blanketed relations between their homeland, Canada and the U.S.

What the campaign turns on, I'm told, is housing and progress prosperity.

The U.S. has grown these nine years under the liberal-led

Justin Trudeau government, and Canada has not much grown. At the same time, welcoming

immigrants, the housing is said to be inadequate, not in my backyard dominating the conversation.

What is to be done? Those are the issues for the

campaign. However, Mr. Carney, a very adept campaigner suddenly, after being a central banker,

a man who speaks as diplomatic language, a world-scale Davos man, Mr. Carney turned into

the defender of Canada from the threatened invasion

by Donald Trump's America to either take over Alberta or just generally turn Canada into the

51st state, that rhetoric. And that has been successful for Mr. Carney. He reversed a double-digit deficit by the liberals to the

conservatives to a lead that looks comfortable now for the vote next Monday. Mr. Poldeuvre,

Pierre Poldevra, coming from Cowboyland, Alberta, is a very muscular, well-informed politician,

member of parliament, where Mr. Carney is not yet.

If he's to be premier, he will be.

However, Mr. Poldevra has issues that made it very clear the conservatives

were going in another direction from Justin Chardot, such as we're against the carbon tax,

such as we're interested in finishing the pipelines, such as we're interested in the natural

resources that Canada was given by God, and we're going to explore them.
