This is CBS Eye on the World on John Bachelors with Sam Tadros, a Middle East scholar writing about Egypt today,

and the question of the Coptic Christians who are treated not just as second-class citizens,

as citizens without rights in certain circumstances.

For example, the inability to adopt a child abandoned in a Christian church that's denied Coptic Christians.

The larger question though, how many Coptic Christians are there?

Sam, with the payoff here is there is no number.

Somewhere between, I'm going to guess, somewhere between 5 million and 16 million.

How did it get to this?

How did we get to not knowing that big of a rain?

Well, this is Egypt, so that's hardly surprising.

There's not much that the term will develop out the country with exact numbers and statics,

but the story is much more than this.
