Hello, guys, welcome. Thank you for tuning in for one last time in this EFL season. This is the Not the Top 20 podcast. It's me, Ali Maxwell, and him, George Ellick. And we will be recapping the EFL playoffs, which took place over the weekend. And fittingly,

that very last match of this remarkable in so many ways, EFL season headed to extra time.

We got some bonus EFL football to send us into the summer. So much to talk about on this podcast.

We'll be recapping the games. We'll be talking about what we think it means for the clubs who have won promotion

and also for those who'll be sticking around in that division next season.

George Ehrlich, did you enjoy playoff final weekend as much as playoff semi-final second leg weekend the week before?

It might have been slightly less goal-filled,

but still laden with drama. It was very hot. I can tell you that. I'm very rouge today.

Yeah, it was great. I mean, it's, I think we were treated to some really interesting games.

Let's say, maybe not the goals that we necessarily expected, but in terms

of actual contests, I think all three offered something a bit different to each other. And yeah,

I guess maybe a shame we didn't have one that really kicked off, but it's pretty rare that

the playoff finals do. And I, it's, yeah, I don't think you can

necessarily, over the course of the whole season, argue that the three teams who went up didn't

deserve to go up. I think all three of them were the best teams outside of the ones who got

automatically promoted. And it's not always that you can say that

even if maybe on the day specifically one of them maybe you want can count themselves a little bit fortunate

to have got through and got promoted you're getting dangerously close when you say the three best teams

outside of those that get automatically promoted. And also,

Brentford, Blackpool and Morecam, who won promotion through the playoffs, were the three teams that

finished closest to the automatic promotion spots in their individual leagues. You're getting

quite close to agreeing with the league table there, George, which feels very non-George-Ellic.
