| 0:07.0 | We'll go straight into it. I'm going to ask you a very basic simple question. |
| 0:10.4 | We've had four decades now of what people were called neo-liberalism or |
| 0:14.0 | free market economics or laissez faire, whatever you want to call it, |
| 0:16.4 | faturism, Reaganism. And those who support those economics would say it is |
| 0:21.3 | brought growth, it has brought, you know, it brings innovation, it |
| 0:25.0 | brings, makes everyone richer. What's the scorecard for decades now? |
| 0:29.7 | How's it all gone? Well, the scorecard is a rather pathetic. |
| 0:33.5 | I mean, of course, they delivered one thing they had promised, which is |
| 0:39.9 | greater inequality, because the logic was that in the process of |
| 0:46.1 | raising inequality, we give more incentive for the richer people to |
| 0:51.7 | create more wealth, which will eventually trickle down. |
| 0:55.1 | But unfortunately, on every other front, they have failed. |
| 1:00.0 | You know, they, the neo-liberals initially said that they want to bring |
| 1:04.5 | down the inflation and make the economy more stable. |
| 1:08.4 | Inflation, well, until the recent that the surge had been brought down, |
| 1:12.8 | but at the cost of having financially more unstable economy, |
| 1:20.1 | all this that the boom and crashes and financial crisis. |
| 1:24.9 | And yeah, we have not even seen more growth. |
| 1:29.4 | Yeah, you know, that's the greatest neo-liberal myth, neo-liberalism has |
| 1:33.2 | not delivered higher growth. |
