Summary

In this podcast, we’re going to talk about why you should add more mushrooms to your diet.

Many people consider mushrooms a vegetable, but it’s actually a type of fungi. Mushrooms are made up of 92% water, 4% carbs, 2% protein, and less than 1% fat.

One cup of mushrooms comes out to 2g carbs and 1g of fiber, making the net carbs 1g.

There are many benefits of having mushrooms in your diet:

• They break down plastics within weeks

• They have a closer biology to animals than plants

• They are rich in vitamins and minerals, including B2, B3, B5, B9, D, selenium, zinc, copper, and potassium.

• They contain B-glucans, which have anti-tumor properties

Fungus is an important part of your microbiome and acquired immune system.

Funguses can also break down nutrients in the soil, which allows plants and our bodies to absorb and utilize them more efficiently.

As you can see, mushrooms aren’t just keto-friendly; they are also very healthy.
