Summary

Do you know that next Sunday we will observe Divine Mercy Sunday? This time of year is a wonderful opportunity to focus on Jesus’ gift of Divine Mercy. I mention Fr. Chris Alan in today’s episode, and I just found out that he has created a video series on Divine Mercy with Ascension! Go to ascensionpress.com/pages/divinemercyvideos (https://ascensionpress.com/pages/divinemercyvideos) to sign up to receive exclusive access to this FREE video series! A great way to celebrate Easter for all fifty days is to plan to practice the Corporal Works of Mercy in your family and in your community. In this week’s show, I share ideas for creative ways to practice each of the works of mercy. Feed the Hungry Give Drink to the Thirsty Clothe the Naked Shelter the Homeless Visit the Sick Visit the Imprisoned Bury the Dead How do you plan to practice mercy in the coming weeks? I would love to hear your ideas! I also share feedback from listeners Christian and Melissa. Melissa shares how much she loves using the Hallow app for meditative prayer. Check it out for yourself! Snippet from the Show “Anybody can do this. In our imperfect ways we can practice this devotion [Divine Mercy] to Jesus.”

0:09.3

Hello and welcome to girlfriends. I'm Danielle Bean. I'm a wife and a mom and I'm on a

0:15.3

mission to help you know your worth as a woman so you can find peace, balance, and joy in family living.

0:21.6

This week we're talking about easy ways to practice mercy.

0:24.7

You know it's almost divine mercy Sunday at Easter time.

0:28.2

Let's get started.

0:32.9

Hey, girlfriends. Welcome. Glad you're here. Happy Easter. It feels like a scandal for me to say that right now because I'm recording it's not Easter yet. But by the time you hear this, it will be. So happy Easter. I hope you've had a joyful celebration with family that you can make last for 50 days,

0:58.0

right? We've talked about this before. Easter lasts for 50 days. So spread out the fun,

1:02.7

as my husband would say. We always talk about spreading out the fun for the holidays and whatnot.

1:07.9

And usually it's just a matter of making things a little more manageable for us.

1:11.6

We started out actually saying that spread out the fun thing when the kids were smaller and it

1:16.7

was like birthday celebrations and the kids would have all these great expectations for what

1:20.9

would happen on their birthday. And just, you know, survival mode, we'd be like, we're going to spread out the fun. Like,

1:29.5

we'll have your cake on this day and, you know, grandpa will come over on this day. And we ended up,

1:35.0

the kids would end up having like a birthday week. And then I found the opposite was true that

1:39.3

spreading out the fun kind of made things more exhausting. And my. in recent years has been like, your birthday is on your

1:46.8

birthday. And everything happens that day. And then that's it. So these are methods of survival that

1:54.0

you learn when you're raising a larger than average size family. Some people are way into the whole

1:58.6

birthday party things. So I'm going on an aside before I even dive into this week's topic.

2:03.2

But I've heard from moms not too long ago who were discussing on Facebook and then they sent

2:09.5

me a question about kids' birthdays.

2:12.6

And I think maybe we took this up one time.
