Hello and welcome to Bible Stories We Are Your Hosts, Todd Hammons.

0:22.9

Hello, my name is Matt Mullins, we're two friends and two ministers who love the stories

0:27.6

of the Bible. We want to share them with you and you joined us during Easter week and each

0:32.6

day of Easter week we've been taking a look at what happened as we get closer to the victory

0:37.9

that we see on Sunday. Today is perhaps the most eventful day of the week, certainly in terms

0:47.5

of things happening. This is Good Friday. Todd, so would you mind sharing with us the events

0:54.4

of Good Friday and then I think what we're going to do and you're going to lead us is to take a

0:58.7

particular passage and dive a little deeper because if you're following along on our social media

1:04.4

you'll see, and I hope you are, you'll see that there's a decent amount of scripture for this day.

There's a lot going on. Absolutely Matt. In fact, we are essentially covering two chapters in the

1:18.3

book of John today. Now we know that the gospels have different kind of perspectives and there's

some different words, but they're all sharing the same thing of Jesus' life and especially in this time

1:31.6

1:37.6

it's hard to just understand why do we call it Good Friday. Seems like a lot of bad happened

1:44.0

on Good Friday. It feels like maybe the enemy won on Good Friday, but we know that ultimately

1:53.6

even though there were a lot of horrible and violent and really sad and bad things that happened,

2:00.1

it was for our good. And so we may discuss some of that toward the end of this podcast, but I wanted

2:05.5

to jump in to John 18 and this is like right after midnight. So when we think through Good Friday,

2:14.6

we're looking at this over almost like a 24 hour span, like a full day, right? Like so from

2:20.8

very early in the morning through really like late in the afternoon. Matt, how do I say the word

2:27.2

afternoon? Afternoon. Afternoon. Afternoon. It's afternoon. Afternoon. Not afternoon.

2:37.3

I'm an interesting character sometimes. I'm a very interesting man. I love it. And you
