What's going on guys? Welcome back to the show. Today we're talking about how to remove rust from tools

and this is one of the easiest ways that I have ever found. So not a question today, just an idea that I'd like to share with you.

And the reason I'm sharing it to you is because I did something kind of stupid.

And I think it happens to all of us.

I was out in the garden, I was pruning, clipping, thinning, planting, etc. and I had my Falco Number Two

pruners out there and I left them out there overnight and so the dew formed on them and they were

in a position where I just couldn't see them and so I forgot about them for a few days and then they rusted out. They were pretty bad and I was kind of bummed because of Falco number two is something that's going to last you more or less your whole life if you're careful with it.

And it's about $60, $65, so it's expensive and I didn't want that money to go to waste.

So here's what happened. I figured out that number one,

vinegar was a fantastic way to remove rust. And the reason why that happens is

something I'm going to get into after I tell you how this whole method works.

Second, I was contacted by some folks from W.D. 40 and they sent me some cool stuff.

They sent me their 3 in 1 multi-purpose oil, which is not only a

de-ruster but a lubricant and it'll give any sort of garden tool a coding in

which it makes it a lot harder to rust in the future.

And then they also sent me some lava soap,

which if you guys don't remember is one of those porous pumice style soaps

that helps you scrub off a bunch of grust and grime from your hands and so I went to work so what I did is I took

the Felco Number Two's I took a mation jar and I poured white distilled vinegar in that

and let it soak for 24 hours.

What's happening there is you are basically putting the steel and rust in an

acidic solution and so the acidic acid that's in vinegar will react with the rust to create something
