Hello and welcome to Bible Stories. We are your hosts, Matt Mullins. Hello. Hey, Matt. And my name is Todd

Hamons and we are two ministers slash buds who love the stories of the Bible. And we cannot wait to

share them with you. And today, well, instead of going specifically to one story of the Bible,

we've got a little bit of a theme here dealing with things that happen here on our earth. And so the theme

is going to hit on multiple areas across the Bible where God moved and powerful and mighty things

happened. And so with that, Matt, go ahead and begin and take us away. That's right, buddy. We're going to

be starting in the book of Exodus chapter 19. And buddy, where this kind of came from was I was

preparing for a Sunday school lesson. And the earth did something really weird in the passage.

Okay. And I got to thinking about sometimes when God causes the earth to do things. And then a

couple of times, it just does it on its own. So we're going to look at a few of those stories.

This is one of them. So it's time for the Ten Commandments. Buddy, we're back in Exodus. We're with

our guy Mo. The Lord is preparing to deliver the law to Moses. And he's going to do just something

incredible. He's going to show his power, demonstrate to the people who he is. So God has told the

people to consecrate themselves. And that means basically to prepare themselves to get ready for

something, to wash their clothes and just be prepared. Because in three days, the Lord will come,

and he's going to come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the Israelites. This was going to

be such a special event, Toddy, that none of the Israelites were to touch the mountain. God wants

them not to touch anybody who does so is going to be killed. That's the instruction. All right.

God wanted the people to take notice of what was about to happen. And he wants them to respect what's

about to happen. So he gives him these these regulations. And he tells him that when the horn blasts,

the people should move toward the mountain. They should stand there at the base. Just watch and wait.

Then this happens in Exodus chapter 19 verses 16 through 20. It says, on the morning of the third day,
