We're in the early and cold, wintery part of the offseason right now. So I hope you're all staying warm and staying safe. And to help you get through it, we're going to go through some early 2026 rankings again. I'm John McRey, joined as always by PFF's lead fantasy analyst, Nathan Yonkey. And for this episode of the PFF Fantasy podcast, we are looking at Nate's early quarterback and tight end rankings for the 2026 season.

Just the top five for each for now, just to kind of wet your beaks a bit and think about something before the season to come.

So Nate, I hope you're mostly avoiding the wintry hell that so many of us are battling right now.

I haven't quite avoided it.

Have over foot of snow that I've had to deal with over the past two days. So that is the most fun thing in the world. But outside of that, it's an interesting time for quarterbacks and tight ends and rankings in general. Added all the rookies to my rankings this past week. So in the articles that I bought for quarterback, we'll talk about the top five, but if you want to see my top 40,

which includes rookies that's up at pff.com right now. Titans will be going up next week. And then we still don't know who the offensive coordinator or offensive play callers going to be for nearly half the league, at least over a quarter of the league. We've got a lot of head coaches who have signed but a lot of them are defensive-minded head coaches so we still don't know what the

like. And that definitely impacts a lot of the players we're talking about today. Yeah, for sure.

Still definitely plenty to sort out here early in this part of the off season. But yeah, we should get a

better idea. And obviously, we'll do these rankings again, you know, later on in the off season as well and look at how things might have changed, what guys may be moved up in the ranks, guys that moved down perhaps. And then, you know, a better idea for some of the offensive outlooks. But I think this is still a good exercise to do, you know, at this point in the season, just kind of get a feel for who these top guys might be.

But even the tight ends, like I think, you know, for the most part, when we're looking at the very top of the rankings, I think a lot of those guys most likely not going to change too dramatically, right? But, you know, especially number one, probably at each of these positions. But yeah, we will probably have some movement. So we'll, we'll see how things differ as we go through the season. But for now, since it's still only January, we'll begin with the top five, potentially the guys who, like I said, are least likely to change dramatically as we get even closer to the season. So let's start at QB1, which I feel has the best chance to stay this way all off season long, Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills.

Oh, yeah, Alan has been either the number one, two or three quarterback for the last six or so years.

That hasn't changed.

He's been a better passer than all of the other rushing quarterbacks.

He's been a better runner than all the other passing quarterbacks.

So that combination of passing and running has made him pretty unstoppable.
