Dynasty. I am your host, Heath Cummings, joined once again by our good friend.

0:16.0

You can find him on social media at G. Men, Jay, Jay Felicio. And you know you know if we're if we're talking to jay we're

0:22.3

probably talking quarterbacks i'm pretty sure the last time you were on this show we did a

0:26.1

state of the quarterback position and that was in the off season last year i wanted to do it a

0:32.1

little earlier this year to kind of set the landscape before free agency before the draft jay

0:37.4

thank you for being here and just tell everybody where they can find your work. Yeah, absolutely. And it was. It was right before the season. And I like that. Maybe I guess I'm going to be the state of the QB guy with you. And to do it at different points of the season, not only, you know, some people say, why are we, you know, talking about this stuff this early when there's so much that's going to change.

1:45.1

But so much is fresh on our mind right after the season. Only technically the season isn't over yet. But and so much is going to change. So I love it. And it makes sense because I'm the lead analyst over at QB list. I've already put out my way too early top 200, a way too early mock draft, and we're going to be pushing content out there all offseason long, are starting to put a little more into our YouTube channel. It's definitely still in its infancy. I believe it's still in the single digits for videos, but that's going to be a big focus for us this offseason as well. We always appreciate having you on, Jay. As I said, we are doing the state of the QBB position. I've got kind of a rough draft of who I view as a QB1 in Dynasty, who I view as a QB2 in Dynasty. We'll also go over some of the bigger name, free agents. And I'll tell you just right off the top, and we've talked about this theme on the show before,

1:51.8

when you combine my QB1s and my QB2s, you get 25 quarterbacks, 24 of which I think we're pretty certain are going to start next year. We've got five free agents in the big name free agents.

1:57.2

So that gives you 29 to 30 quarterbacks. You add in Mendoza. Maybe we're at 30 or 31

2:03.9

that probably will have a starting job next year. There's 32 teams in the NFL. There's not

2:09.7

enough quarterbacks to fill all these vacancies. We'll talk a little bit about this as well.

2:13.5

Of course, we always start with three questions for our guest. Jay, when you're evaluating a quarterback, what would you say is the most important thing in evaluating the position?

2:24.9

For me, it's how drastically their production falls when they face pressure, specifically their completion percentage.

2:31.9

Obviously, anybody's going to get worse under pressure, but you know, you got the guys like

2:36.3

Sam Darnold who sometimes see ghosts.

2:39.0

And one of the main reasons I was in on Daniel Jones this season was because of the drastic

2:46.2

split between how good he was under pressure, excuse me, how bad he was under pressure compared to

2:53.4

how good he was when he had some time. No pressure. He was the past three seasons, 22, 23,

2:59.7

24, 69% with no pressure, 45% under pressure, 76% no pressure, 52% under pressure. So, I mean, you're talking 20, 25% drop in

3:12.4

completion percentage. And the biggest thing there is if, you know, as we saw with Justin Herbert,

3:20.4

as we saw for a short period with Matthew Stafford, there's going to be times where even the best offensive lines get hurt. They're not going to have that time. If, you know, if something happens where the offensive line isn't as good as they thought it was going to be, are these guys going to just completely fall off the face of the earth, or are they still going to be able to have some solid production? So you mentioned a guy, and I'll just jump to question number three, and then we'll come back to question number two.
