It's time for the February one-man mailbag.

You guys had sent in a lot of great emails over the last week.

and I'll get to those emails, you know, if you have one that's more urgent than the next

mailbag, which will be in March, I'll try to just answer that in the email. But if you have

some that can can kind of simmer for a little while, especially we'll probably have more rookie

questions,

I would guess, in March than we do in February, because not a lot of rookie questions.

A lot of questions, though, about this offseason and kind of maybe some more, what do I do

with my teams?

But we made the statement two weeks ago, three weeks ago, talking about how much

I like to do rookie drafts right after the NFL draft. There may have even been a disparaging

remark about people who wait to do them in August. I might have called them cowards. It was just a

joke, but James did send

in a thoughtful email about the subject, so I wanted to read it and address it. James says,

in redraft leagues, we always said, the best time to do our draft is as close as possible to

the start of the regular season. It's widely accepted as the most logical choice because it helps

immensely to go into the season with the most

current information regarding injuries, suspensions, and position battles.

Additionally, holding our drafts later gives us some time during camp and preseason to get an idea of how players are or are not fitting into the offense and meshing with their coaches and teammates.
