One of the most remarkable moments that I have ever witnessed in American culture and politics

took place last weekend when Erica Kirk stood before tens of thousands of people,

stood before the world and the media, and through her grief and tears publicly forgave the man who shot and killed her

husband.

Friends, welcome to the Wilde at Har podcast. I am dropping in a special introduction this week

for a couple of reasons. First, I, I, if I sound

late to the conversation, forgive me. We record these podcasts and these series that we do

often a month out. And I was traveling, couldn't get into a studio, and I don't want

silence from us to send a wrong message of any kind.

We are in the midst of momentous events, not only in the U.S., but around the world.

And there is a great deal of emotion, there's a great deal of energy on all sides in the wake of Charlie Kirk's

assassination. Some really horrible things are being said and done and some really remarkable things, too.

The most breathtaking of all, Erica's forgiveness of her husband's killer. What is almost equally remarkable,

is it in the immediate aftermath of something so provocative and volatile, what you saw were prayer

vigils? Something really strange has taken place, something remarkable.

Church attendance is up. Bible sales are up. People are shaken. I understand. They're shaken,

and they're turning to God. Many of them are turning to God.

And what I wanted to offer was just a couple of thoughts.

but so many places around the world, I mean, we are teetering on the brink of what feels like civil war.
