Summary

Adam Peaty is the first British swimmer to retain their Olympic title after winning Team GB's first gold medal of Tokyo 2020 with victory in the men's 100m breaststroke.

Adam now has the 16 quickest times in history over the 100m breaststroke and is the only swimmer ever to dip under 57 seconds with his 2019 world record.

With eight world titles, 16 European titles, Adam is one of GB’s greatest Olympian’s of all time.

0:05.7	to start by saying congratulations Tom Dele, who has been a guest on the podcast. You can
0:11.6	find his episode, his brilliant episode in series one. Ah, Olympic champion, I watched
0:18.1	that happen live with my wife who were up early in the morning and what I loved it. There
0:23.2	was a few things that really stood out to me from Tom Winning Gold. The first one was his
0:27.4	coach, Jane Figuerod, giving him advice, words of wisdom, tips and basically coaching him
0:35.0	before his penultimate dive. And I just love the fact that they're at the absolute pinnacle
0:40.3	of the diving world. They're diving in the Olympic final. They've only got a couple of
0:43.9	dives left yet still. She's finding the time to stitch the information into him which was
0:48.9	brilliant. And then the other thing that stood out for me was when we spoke about it on
0:53.8	the podcast episode with Tom, the presence of mind when he's standing on the board in an
0:58.0	Olympic final to deliver under the conditions like that, the incredible pressure and massive
1:03.4	congratulations as well to the Chinese pair. Obviously they dived last and you can you imagine
1:08.4	what that's like knowing that it's a big chance to win gold and they did a brilliant dive
1:13.5	as well. It wasn't quite enough but to know the journey Tom's been on and we discussed
1:17.6	the journey in great detail on his podcast episode and then to see him win gold. I'm happy
1:23.2	to sit here and tell you that my wife and I both had tears in our eyes. In fact, they
1:28.0	had tears streaming down our cheeks but there you go. So Tom, thank you for being on the
1:31.7	podcast and huge congratulations to you. I also want to say big thanks as well because
1:36.1	the reaction to the interview that we put out in the previous episode with Mel Marshall,
1:41.6	the swimming coach was incredible. He's a really quick message from Mark and he says,
