My name's Matt Jay, and on this podcast, we're here to share experience, strength, and hope recovering from addiction.

Now, we don't speak for any 12-step group, but we do try to remain anonymous.

And the goal of this podcast is really to share experiences, not that you can compare to, but that you can identify with. And I wanted to talk a little

bit about Tony Shea, who was one of my favorite business heroes over the past decade or so.

And Tony died around Thanksgiving in Connecticut. He died in a fire, which seemed to be very tragic until

things came to light right after that around how he had quite the addiction and the addiction

indirectly led to his death. So I'm going to tell you a little bit about him. You may not know

who Tony Shea is in terms of the business world. He was one of my heroes and one of my heroes in terms of customer service, the world I work in. So Tony

Shea was the CEO and founder of Zappos. Zappos is a website that started by selling shoes,

but now really has become a focus on activeware.

He was able to sell the company to Amazon, 10, 12 years back at well over a billion dollars.

And because of the culture that Tony Shag created, he was able to keep the culture in place
