Summary

As men, we’re taught not to own our feelings. We’re taught to just suck it up and keep it moving. The truth is, changed only happened for me once I started to be honest with myself and began living by a code. In this episode, I detail the code that I’ve been living by which has helped me emerge from this hole I was buried in.

0:17.0	So this morning on the way into the office I was having a conversation with one of my
0:21.6	closest friends. This friend's name is
0:23.6	TJ. TJ is actually or was my college roommate freshman year at University of
0:29.8	Cincinnati. Him and I took five years and didn't speak, not because we didn't like each other, just life got in the way. Things became less important. Now, we made a commitment to since not go through that ever again.
0:43.0	And not going through that, it's not because we necessarily need each other,
0:45.0	but we generally enjoy each other's company.
0:47.0	I'm sure much like you have people in your life that you enjoy their company,
0:50.0	that you just drift apart for whatever the reasons.
0:52.0	So TJ was kind enough to fly from South
0:56.3	Carolina where he lives out to Venice Beach for Lindsay and I's wedding. I
1:00.4	couldn't have been more happier he was a part of it. I mean literally to have this man that played an
1:04.0	an integral role in my life my freshman year of college
1:06.0	and then stayed close with me at least through the rest of college
1:08.0	and into the first years of our adult careers.
1:11.0	It was great, you know, that you look at it's been 10 years really, 12
1:16.8	years and we're still in touch and not only are we still in touch we're still close
1:19.8	friends. Now oddly enough he ended up taking the path after college or jumping into the car business.
1:24.6	And he's worked his way up through the Sonic Automotive Group and is now a finance director
1:28.2	from one of their stores in South Carolina.
