It's a pleasure, Bridget. Thank you so much for having me.

I'm really excited to talk to you about all the things, satire, literature, writing. But first, give me just a little overview of what you're doing right now.

Where are you in life? In the stream of life, where do you find yourself?

That's an interesting question. No one has quite asked me about my life like that before.

I'm writing a couple of books right now.

I'm researching a certain niche history of northern Nigeria

and how it connects to Greek philosophy.

So there's a cosmology that is somewhere in northern Nigeria,

and I'm trying to draw parallels between that cosmology and Greek mythology, especially

as used by intellectuals, writers, storytellers, and all of that.

So that's what I'm doing at the moment.

And where in Nigeria are you from originally?

I'm from northern Nigeria.

So in the, yeah, northwest or some people call it north-central.

But yes, I'm from the north.

What do you think are the biggest misconceptions that the West has about Nigeria currently?

The biggest misconceptions. One of them is that, especially as driven by this huge population, that is overrepresented in every single thing,

both in good things and in the bad things,

is that this is who Nigerians are.

But I think the biggest misconception is that the stories you hear are representative of Nigeria.

So, for example, the fiction you see from Nigeria is mostly from southern Nigeria.
