and today's episode is your marketing

sucks. So I've had to reinvent myself four, five, six, fucking countless times over the course of my professional career.

I'm thinking about it, the story that I've shared with you,

the true story is, got out of college,

went down the financial advising role, went down that route, and that's a pretty loose interpretation what it really was.

I worked for Western Southern Financial, more of life and health insurance sales that eventually I could

graduate into a series six or series 7 to be some sort of broker.

Now, this is the first job out of college and I was happy just to have something that paid me

a consistent salary.

It was a meager salary, but that's what it was.

And so I was branding myself at that moment, my personal

branding was that I'm going to be this best insurance agent essentially. Now that was bullshit

because I didn't believe it myself. And so by me not believing it I didn't really brand myself that

well. I wasn't on social media. Social media didn't exist the same way it does now and

nobody in my community knew me for that. I literally went to the office, made a

couple of cold calls, did the bare minimum I could to make sure I got my paycheck.

Eventually went on some calls out on the road to try to find some customers.

That was it. Punch on the clock.

Go to work at 9 in the morning, try to leave by 4 or 5. That was my day.
