| 0:36.4 | Yeah. So I wrote the book because I wanted to tell the world about |
| 0:41.1 | my conversion journey. I wanted to tell them about Jews and then, you know, I'm an Orthodox Jew and there's |
| 0:46.4 | a lot of misinformation out there about us and Jews in general, as you know. And also I was, you know, |
| 0:53.4 | just grew up in Baltimore. I was an atheist. And I think |
| 0:57.0 | there's a lot of people right now who are missing faith from their lives. And I really want |
| 1:00.2 | people, you know, you don't have to convert or anything, but just to believe in God, like |
| 1:04.2 | believing in God, again, gave me so much hope. And I think that's what a lot of people, |
| 1:08.5 | especially in America, are missing right now. |
| 1:14.5 | And to be chosen, that's a misnomer. |
| 1:19.0 | People think that, you know, the chosen people means that we think we're better than everyone else. |
| 1:20.3 | We look down on everybody else. |
| 1:27.1 | But the way that I heard it was God shopped around the Torah to all the nations and the Jews were the only one that wanted to take it on. |
| 1:33.0 | And so we were responsible for spreading God around the world through Avraham, monotheism. |
| 1:36.9 | And yeah, so we chose to take the Torah on. |
| 1:40.0 | And our role is to show that God exists to the world. |
| 1:41.5 | And you don't have to be like us. |
| 1:42.6 | You don't have to be Jewish. |
| 1:46.1 | But just to believe in God and lead your life in a good way. |
| 1:54.8 | And were you raised religious or were you an atheist or what role did religion have in your life before you converted? And how old were you when you converted? I was 26. |
