So when your dog bites somebody, being a dog bite attorney, it doesn't mean that your dog is immediately going to be put down and taken to the pound.

Okay. No, it doesn't mean that. First of all, there are two kinds of bites. There are justified bites.

And then there are the ones that indicate aggression and a violent predisposition.

Phillips. I'm the author of dogbitelaw.com, which is a 1,100 page

treatise on the interactions of people and dogs and the legal aspects of that. I aimed the website.

The website has been online since the late 90s. In the late 90s, there was no such thing as dog bite law. That was a phrase that I came up with. In the late 90s, when I came up with it and started saying that I was a dog bite lawyer, it was regarded as being a joke because people never heard

of dog bite law. They never heard of dog bite lawyer. And in fact, in the late 90s, the average

number of people being killed by dogs in the U.S. was six or seven. And dog attacks were not in the news because it just wasn't a thing.

So I came along at that time. I introduced dog bite law as being a thing.

And, you know, like the rest is history.

So in addition to my being the only lawyer in the United States

who does nothing but dog attack cases, 99% of the time for the victim, 1% of the time

for the dog owner or other defendant. In addition to that, I also have written laws

that have been enacted on the state level on down around the country.

I have testified about laws in the legislative arena.

I have given webinars and seminars for attorneys and dog owners and canine professionals like animal control

officers so I do I do all this stuff it's you know it's what I do so that's who I am yeah
